Illustrations for Italo Calvino. Published and unpublished masterpieces for young readers' books

Services Centre
Illustrators Café

Italo Calvino loved and knew very well the history of Italian illustration. He would certainly have been pleased with BCBF's tribute to him one hundred years after his birth with the exhibition and contest "Eccellenze Italiane. Figures for Italo Calvino". Visual culture is an important aspect of cultural, aesthetic, imaginative education. Promoting it, stimulating it, making it accessible to children is a commitment.

BCBF dedicates a meeting to the great author and Italian illustration, together with established artists who have interpreted his texts, and some of the contest winners, who have offered their personal vision of the characters, places and suggestions of Calvino's novels.
