Events Programme
The CCBF professional programme presented 17 conferences and seminars.
Among the key sessions: the “International Children’s Reading Promotion Forum”, supported by the Shanghai Press & Publication Administration and IBBY. Other sessions included the Award Winners’ Series; analyses of Chinese and global book retail markets, and discussions on IP operations, AI in education, Asian children’s content and innovative storytelling.
The programme also welcomed a stellar lineup of guests, including Sydney Smith, Shinsuke Yoshitake, Leo Timmers, Alessandro Sanna, Øyvind Torseter and Matthew Forsythe.
Golden Pinwheel
Since its creation in 2015, the competition has been providing a venue for emerging illustrators to showcase their talent. It aims to build bridges between them and children's publishers, both domestically and globally. The Golden Pinwheel is not merely a standalone competition—it is a comprehensive programme which includes exhibitions, an illustrated yearbook and a variety of promotional campaigns.
The 2026 call for entries will run from 26 March until 8 June 2026 23:59, (GMT+8).
The Illustrators Suvival Corner
One of the BCBF’s flagship initiatives, where artists can gather, share experiences and receive professional advice on their art and profession. The space is managed and designed by Mimaster Illustrazione (Milan, Italy) and offers masterclasses, creative workshops, oneto one mentorships supporting emerging talent and creative career development.
SHVIP - Fellowship a CCBF
The SHVIP Fellowship Programme brought six international professionals to Shanghai. Participants followed a curated itinerary across Shanghai’s bookstores and publishing houses, gaining a deeper understanding of China’s children’s publishing market.
International Children’sBook Publishers Dialogue
The annual branded event International Children's Book Publishers Dialogue Forum is jointly organized by the CCBF Committee, the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), the Children's Reading Materials Working Committee of the Publishers Association of China, and the Chinese Board on Books for Young People (CBBY) . Bringing together publishing elites from around the world, this event explores trends in children's book publishing and new models for cultural collaboration.
