New trends in children’s book publishing

The beautiful Stabat Mater lecture hall of the Archiginnasio Public Library, where last April the Prize-Giving ceremony of the BolognaRagazzi Awards took place, will also be the venue for the new edition of the international meeting ‘New trends in children's book publishing’.

 

It will be held on September 21 and organized by the Italian Book Publishers Association (AIE), the Bologna Children's Book Fair and the European Book Fairs Network (Aldus), in the framework of the European Federation of Publishers (FEP) Summer meeting.

 

The event includes a program of panels, that aim to look into emerging trends and analyze the latest developments in children’s book publishing, together with many professionals that will lay out these different views from their own experiences. From the most passionate stories for young readers by Beatrice Fini, Giunti’s Head of Publishing, to the emerging opportunities of selling secondary rights according to Claudia Mazzucco, CEO of Atlantyca Entertainment. Moreover, the latest update on digital product innovation presented by Neal Hoskins, the Bologna Children Book Fair Digital Consultant and a focus on accessibility by Mario Barbuto, Director of the Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti, and Cristina Mussinelli, General Secretary of the Fondazione LIA, a panel followed by a reading in the dark with the author Giuseppe Festa and the young reader Bana Abreham.

 

The meeting is organized under the patronage of the Municipality of Bologna, in partnership with the Bologna public libraries, the Archiginnasio and Fondazione LIA.
