Illustrators Exhibition on tour

The Bologna Children's Book Fair exhibitions continue their tour bringing the world the best of international illustration.

On Sunday 15th May, the 2015 Illustrators Exhibition will be inaugurated and opened to the public in the National Library of China in Beijing, the largest library in all of Asia. It is the first ever tour of China in the Exhibition’s history, after more than a year on tour displaying the work of artists selected at BolognaFiere in 2015 in venues hosted by different countries the world over.

The vernissage will be attended by the President of National Library of China Wang Zhigeng; Liu Jianguo, Secretary and director of the permanent committee of the publishing association of the Republic of China; the winning artist of the 2016 Andersen Award Cao Wenxuan; Chinese illustrators Zhu Chengliang (artist selected for the 2016 Illustrators Exhibition) and Yue Shuai (whose work is included in the Exhibition); Zhang Mingzhou, EC member of IBBY, CBBY Deputy President and CCPPG International President, and the Cultural Advisor of the Italian Embassy in China Stefania Stafutti. On behalf of BolognaFiere, its President Franco Boni will greet the guests with a video message and Elena Pasoli will be present at the inauguration. 


The tour of China will last a year, hosted by six venues in China’s major cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Jinan, Xi’an and will be accompanied by the Illustrators Annual, published in China for the first time.
Organized by BolognaFiere-Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Niu Niu Culture Limited, the National Library of China in Beijing and Beijing Dandelion Children’s Book House Limited, the tour is yet another prestigious opportunity offering major international visibility to the artists featured in the exhibition.
