BCBF 2023 - Translators Café

The Translators Centre, where Transaltors café is, is dedicated to professional translators and those wishing to specialise in literature for children. The Centre is an information, debate and international exchange hub for sector professionals meeting each year in Bologna. This year, BCBF has established a new exciting partnership with CEATL - the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations to promote good practices in the field of literary translation and copyright. In order to promote the translation of children’s books and to showcase talented young translators to publishers in the sector, BCBF is holding the translation competition In Altre Parole, dedicated this year to translation from Japanese. Celebrating this year the 20th anniversary of the Translators Centre of BCBF, the award is aimed at praising the great value translators bring to the publishing sector, by allowing exchanges of ideas and creativity among different markets and by acting as scouts, and celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of the Translators Centre of BCBF.
