PUBLISHING ACTIVITY

The establishment of the Guild of Publishers of Castile and León in 1995 marked an important step for the viability and defense of the publishing sector in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León. For more than thirty years, the Guild has represented, managed, and defended the common economic, business, and professional interests of its members, as well as the cultural heritage of Castile and León, carving out a significant role both regionally and nationally in the development of initiatives aimed at promoting and spreading books and reading, within the broader framework of PROMOTING THE CULTURE AND PUBLISHING INDUSTRY OF CASTILE AND LEÓN in society. Currently, there are 27 publishing companies that are members of the Guild of Publishers of Castile and León, companies that generate a broad, heterogeneous, and dynamic publishing network, representing a cultural element of distinct interest. It is worth highlighting the fact that, in recent years, several publishing houses in Castilla y León have received prestigious awards both nationally and internationally (Award for the Best Published Book in the categories of Art Books, Books and Bibliophilia, and Facsimile Books, National Awards for the Best Cultural Publishing Work, National Literary Awards, Cervantes Awards, Princess of Asturias Award, for authors published by our members).
