PUBLISHING ACTIVITY

The bookstore and publishing house Shakespearikon was created on November of 2005 by the poet Yorgos Alisanoglou. Its goal was and remains the creation of a warm and bibliophile space, which could host many new, but also older poets and writers in many ways, and would create new ways of expression through an informal “literary group”, with the ambition to promote the book and its creator, always open to propositions about poetry, theater and about literature in general. The publishing section prints selectively books of foreign and Greek poets, essays, prose as well as drama, having always the book “as written production as well as an object”. The books are published with delicate typography and quality paper, and the function of the section is characterized by the principle of the high aesthetic values. Until today the publishing section has approximately 350 titles to present, such as poetry series, longer and shorter novels, drama series, prose series and essays. It participates in several Book Fairs and Presentations in Greece and abroad.
