“Off the Page… and into the World of Fashion”

Twenty-five artists of the 2019 Illustrators Exhibition have been chosen by the Pitti Immagine Team for the exhibition Off the page… and into the world of fashion, organized within the framework of the 89th edition of Pitti Bimbo (20-22 June 2019), the international show for new trends in childrenswear.
Launched four years ago by Bologna Children's Book Fair and Pitti Immagine Bimbo, the project aims to bring the unique visual and creative heritage of children's books to the world of fashion, triggering an innovative dialogue with the fashion collections on show.
The creative blend of different languages, cultures and sensitivities sparks renewed curiosity, opening up unexplored and original ways of combining illustration with the world of children’s fashion.

The display of original illustrations was flanked by a special edition of THE EXTRAORDINARY LIBRARY, the international selection of books for children and young adults organised by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Entitled HERstory, this 2019's focus was on women: stories, biographies and work written by women about women.
