Translators
The production of a book is an elaborate process that involves a number of figures in addition to the writer, including agent, publisher, editor and translator.
This latter has a delicate and complex task that requires sensibility, dedication and professionalism.
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair invites translators to a unique appointment with international children’s publishing professionals.
The Translators’ Centre is the space devoted to these key professional figures for the publishing world, offering them the opportunity to share experiences in a friendly atmosphere and take part in an interesting programme of meetings and workshops during the Children’s Book Fair.
For the second year running, publishers who are looking for a translator can directly consult the World Directory of Children’s Book Translators.
Developed in cooperation with UNESCO - Clearing House for Literary Translation, the directory is a listing of professional translators specialising in children literature that aims to bring together demand and supply of literary translation services. Translators will also have the opportunity to register with the directory during the Book Fair.
Translators applying to translator@bolognafiere.it by 5 March 2010 are entitled to a reduced price ticket (12 Euro) to be presented at the ticket office.
