The splendid poetic of Page Tsou holds many features that reflect both the best graphic traditions – Steinberg is one name that comes to mind – and a great pictorial vision. A mastery rivalling that of the ancient illuminators, combines with an ability to tell stories, capture atmospheres and reveal human emotions. Page Tsou’s graphic skills have not come about by chance; they are the fruit of exhaustive consideration by an artist whose vision has been moulded by a wealth of cultural influences. Page Tsou’s work is a lesson to us all: being an artist requires profound cultural knowledge together with consummate craftsmanship. His artwork creates a dreamlike world that clearly reflects his particular vision of the world.
