Launched in 2004 by the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the Translators’ Centre has become a key meeting point for translators and publishers. It offers a wide range of opportunities to:

• share information and experiences and develop contacts;

• take part in the interesting programme of meetings, seminars, workshops;

• obtain information on and register with the World Directory of Children’s Book Translators, the first world database of children’s book translators available on-line free of charge throughout the year.

The Centre is run in cooperation with Biblit, a network for literary translators that provides information and advice on the main topics of professional relevance, professional associations' activities, training, translators' residences and grant organisations.

This year thanks to the collaboration with the Bologna University SSLMIT whose students will practice simultaneous translation during the Centre’s meetings and thanks to the Bologna Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici “Carlo Bo”, special focus is on translator job training.

The new competition In Altre Parole is addressed to Italian translators to support young talents.
